Knox County’s 2020 Tax Year Reappraisal
Dear Property Owner:
This change in valuation is to inform you of your new real estate value for the 2020 tax year. As required by Ohio Law, the County Auditor is charged with the duty to reappraise all properties in Knox County once every six years. During the reappraisal process, the Auditor must revalue each individual property through a mass appraisal process that considers market sales for the prior three years. The goal of the reappraisal is to adjust and maintain realistic market values and to ensure that every property is being taxed fairly.
If your property is reduced by the Current Agricultural Use Valuation (CAUV), that new value is listed below the market and taxable values on the website. The CAUV changes are a result of the Ohio Department of Taxation adjusting the formula that is used to determine land values, which is based on the type of soil and productivity of the soil.
